Packaging Act 2019

Here you will find some useful information regarding the Packaging Act (Verpackungsgesetz - VerpackG), which came into force on January 1, 2019. As of July 1, 2022, updates and obligations regarding the Packaging Act 2.0 were announced.

What needs to be done?

Please note that our cardboard boxes, packaging, and packaging accessories are sold unlicensed.

The manufacturer responsible for system participation is defined as anyone who commercially places sales and/or outer packaging filled with goods onto the market for the first time, which typically accumulates as waste with the private end consumer after use – thus, usually the "filler".

Since we do not fill the packaging, but ship it as goods, and therefore do not send it directly to the end consumer, our packaging is sold unlicensed.

The obligation to register the packaging lies with whoever fills the packaging or uses the accessories for the first time, i.e., you, unless you are a reseller of our packaging and also ship it as goods.

Information on the Take-Back Obligation for Packaging Material

According to Section 15 (1) Sentence 1 of the current Packaging Act (VerpackG), we are obligated to take back the following packaging materials from end consumers free of charge:

- Transport packaging, such as pallets, large packaging, etc.,
- Sales and outer packaging that typically does not accumulate as waste with private end consumers after use,
- Sales and outer packaging for which system participation is not possible due to system incompatibility pursuant to Section 7 (5), and
- Sales packaging of filled goods containing harmful substances or
- Reusable packaging.

Corresponding packaging material is used when delivering the product, which we take back free of charge. We thereby ensure the return of the packaging material into the recycling cycle. By providing information about the return options, the aim is to achieve better results in the return of packaging and to ensure a contribution to fulfilling the European recovery targets under EU Directive 94/62/EC.

As an end consumer, you can hand over the packaging material at the place of actual delivery or in its immediate vicinity.
